Every demigod is born with a few natural powers, inherited from their godly parent. Those powers can be found here, so before you decide who you want your character to descend from, I suggest checking this out.
*SPECIAL POWERS are indicated by colored font. Not everyone has these, only a select few. You will be informed of whether or not you have these special powers in your welcome package.*

Children of Demeter
- One of Demeter's biggest areas of focus is agriculture. That being said, her kids probably have some sort of agricultural control, right? If you're a child of Demeter, you can control most things involving crops. You can make plants grow faster, produce large quantities of fruit or vegetables from a single plant, and even bend vines, leaves, grass, etc. to your every whim. Be careful though. This is a huge power, and can drain you quickly if you're inexperienced.
- While this doesn't seem like a very helpful power, it sure can be fun! Demeter's kids have a special relationship with pigs. They can communicate telepathically with them and sometimes, if they're really good, control them. If you happen to anger a Demeter camper, you might find yourself run out of the state by an army of these little guys.
- Lost and hungry? No problem. Children of Demeter have a knack for locating food. The harder they focus, the farther their range is extended. A Demeter kid can tell you where to find fresh produce, edible bugs or flowers, and even the nearest restaurant!
- Not only is Demeter the goddess of agriculture, but also the seasons. That being said, it's only natural that she should be able to control the weather. But what about her children? Rarely, one of Demeter's kids will be able to summon the weather to aid them in a fight. Whether it be a raging windstorm, snowstorm, thunderstorm, whatever, these are extremely dangerous and can wipe out whole armies of enemies if used properly. Demigods can only use this power if they are in dire need or are feeling an overwhelming amount of a certain emotion. It can leave the demigod in an exhausted state, but usually, it's worth it.
Children of Ares
- Kids of the war god are basically like human tanks. They have a sort of aura around them at all times that acts like armor. Ares campers are typically harder to injure, thanks to this blessing from their father. You'll really have to put all your energy into a swing to even leave a mark on one of these guys.
- While children of Ares may not be able to communicate telepathically with any creatures, they can call upon a few when in need. By releasing an ear-piercing battle cry, any snake, dog, or vulture within the area will rush to the camper's aid and fight alongside him/her until they are no longer needed.
- The kids from Cabin 5 really know how to pack a punch. They are typically stronger than other demigods, and a single punch can send someone flying when they focus hard enough. This power is extremely draining, however, and the harder they swing, the more energy they lose. This skill is also intensified when the demigod is angry.
- You may remember this power being used by Clarisse la Rue, but if you don't, here's a refresher. When a child of Ares is pissed to the point of no return, or simply involved in a huge battle, they may go into a state commonly referred to by campers as a "War Frenzy." While in this state, the demigod is seemingly invincible and can charge into the midst of a battle and take down hundreds of enemies. Their senses are heightened, their reflexes defined, and their strength dramatically increased. They can only maintain this state for about thirty minutes before passing out.
Children of Athena
- Kids of Athena are used to being on the battlefield, which has caused them to develop extremely quick reflexes. They can almost never be caught off guard and are particularly good at predicting their opponent's next move. Sneaking up on one of these guys is nearly impossible.
- Like owls, children of Athena have the ability to turn their head 270 degrees in either direction. This allows them to have a full view of their surroundings whenever they need to. I wouldn't suggest showing this talent off, however, as it might creep out some of the other campers.
- Athena campers have energy to spare, quite literally. They can go days without rest and can call upon their extra energy to make them faster than ever in combat. On occasion, they can also transmit some of their excessive energy into other people, giving them just enough to keep fighting or stay awake for longer periods of time. Transmitting their power like this is extremely exhausting, however, and they should use this skill wisely.
- Many people don't take Cabin 6's special power as seriously as they should. Certain children of Athena have the ability to manipulate the thoughts of other people. With this, they can easily control others, force them to relive horrible memories, and force migraines into their heads which can send them to the ground in pain. If you get on the bad side of one of these campers, I'd watch out if I were you, because you may find yourself suffering from the worst headache you've ever gotten.
Children of Apollo
- These kids are artistic geniuses. Any child of Apollo is strangely gifted at all things that have to do with art, may it be writing, painting, acting, singing, whatever. These campers can paint a masterpiece without even trying, or write the music for the next number one song on the radio.
- Being children of the god of light, Apollo kids can radiate an intense, golden light from their hands, feet, eyes, or even their whole body if they've practiced long enough. This light can temporarily blind people and buy them enough time to attack or flee. This is one of their toughest powers to master, however, and can leave the demigod feeling extremely exhausted.
- Apollo is known for his prophecies, and so are his kids. While many demigods have dreams concerning the future, children of Apollo have them frequently, and typically, they are more in control of what they see. They can predict a full invasion by simply going to sleep. If they focus hard enough, they can even make small predictions during the day. These are nothing compared to those of the oracle, but they can come in handy.
- In special cases, chosen children of Apollo can call upon the sun to aid them in battle. The power of their father's chariot, what we know as the sun, fuels whatever weapon they happen to be wielding for a short period of time. The blade becomes unbearably hot, to the point where it hurts simply to be near. It will burn whomever it strikes, but that's not all. If they manage to land an attack, the target will feel as if their entire body is on fire, which will give any child of Apollo the upper hand.
Children of Hephaestus
- Being children of the blacksmith of the gods, these kids are skilled weapon-makers. They can turn a large branch into a deadly spear by simply whacking it a few times with a hammer. These kids are insanely resourceful, and can craft whatever you need in a few minutes without breaking a sweat.
- Since they're always in the forge, Hephaestus kids have a huge resistance to fire. They can't be burned or scarred, or even get sunburn from being outside too long. They can walk through massive infernos like it's nobody's business.
- Like Ares campers, these ids are extremely hard to injure. I mean, what do you expect? Their dad was thrown of a mountain and escaped with nothing but a slight limp. They can hold their ground extremely well and have a high pain tolerance. While Ares and Hephaestus campers usually despise each other, if they can manage to work together long enough, the results can be crazy.
- Being resistant to fire can certainly come in handy when using this skill. Once in a blue moon, a child of Hephaestus will be able to conjure fire from their hands. Entire cities have been known to crumble before the flames of a Hephaestus child, so don't get on their bad side. In addition, it's the touch of a flame-engulfed hand that is required to open the doors to Bunker 9.
Children of Aphrodite
- Children of Aphrodite are extremely captivating. They can completely infatuate members of the opposite gender by simply batting their eyelashes or shooting them a smirk. They're notorious for getting what they want, and they can even spark minor romances between other people with a snap of their fingers.
- Aphrodite originally emerged from the sea foam of the ocean, and because of this, her children have a strange connection with beaches. They are much stronger and more relaxed when by a beach, and they can even manipulate sand if need be. Controlling sand is a tough thing to do, though, and can leave the demigod feeling like they haven't slept in days.
- It's no secret that kids of Aphrodite are usually extremely attractive. They have a sort of power over their appearance, and can change small aspects about it if they want. Things like altering their hair or eye color is no big deal, but things like changing their whole face or body to look like someone else is nearly impossible for them to maintain for more than a few minutes. It can be done, however, but it does leave them feeling tired.
- Certain kids of Aphrodite are known to be insanely persuasive. That's right folks, Charmspeak. If you're lucky enough to be born with this skill, you can basically talk your way out of anything. Basically, when you tell someone to do something, they do it without hesitation. The level of the magic all depends on the user's focus and skill. Certain people may be able to resist if you're not trying hard enough.
Children of Hermes
- Hermes is the one in charge of delivering messages to all the gods, and to do this, he has to be somewhat light on his feet. The same goes for his children. These campers are insanely fast. They can run from New York to D.C. and back in less than half an hour if they put their mind to it. This is tiring, though, and eventually, they'll have to take a break.
- These kids are extremely mischievous and tricky. Would you expect less from the offspring of the god of thieves? They are excellent liars and can pickpocket anyone without their knowledge. They're also experts at picking locks and figuring out how much an item is worth on a single glance. I'd keep an eye on your wallet around these guys.
- Camper from Cabin 11 are strangely skilled in using defensive techniques on the battlefield. After all, one of their father's most well-known symbols is the tortoise, which can use its shell for protection whenever it's in danger. Hermes kids, when given a shield, are excellent at protecting themselves and others. This, combined with their amazing speed, can make them quite the opponent.
- Surely Hermes doesn't get all around the world by simply running, right? We all know about those nifty sandals he's got. You know, the ones with the wings. Special children of Hermes were gifted with the power to sprout wings from whatever footwear they're wearing at the time, allowing them to actually fly. This is extremely useful for obvious reasons. I wouldn't suggest trying it barefoot, however. The results can be ugly . . . and painful.
Children of Dionysus
- Campers from the Dionysus cabin have a weird connection with wild cats, such as lions, tigers, and panthers. None of theses creatures will ever hurt a child of the wine god, and will often take their side in a battle. In addition, Cabin 12 campers can read the thoughts of wild cats and have full conversations with them.
- This skill is a no-brainer, but children of Dionysus can produce wine out of thin air. They can also drink however much alcohol they want and never get drunk, unless they want to of course. They can sometimes intoxicate another person, however, just by looking at them. But this takes a lot of focus and concentration.
- Most of us have heard the story about how Dionysus managed to transform and entire ship's crew into dolphins. Well, the same goes for his children. While physically transforming someone completely into a dolphin takes years of practice, small body parts are no problem. In the blink of an eye, these campers can give you a pair of fins for hands, or a tail, or a dorsal fin. Don't worry if the camper leaves you like this, though. If they don't change you back, the effect will eventually wear off. In addition, children of Dionysus can also turn themselves into dolphins.
- Perhaps one of the most useful powers a demigod can have comes from the Dionysus cabin. A select few of these campers can make someone go absolutely crazy by simply snapping their fingers. They can send people into fits of hysteria, make them hallucinate, and basically do anything that involves mental stability. If the demigod is skilled enough, they can do this to entire buildings, or even towns if need be. This is the toughest power at Camp Half-Blood to master, though. Children of Dionysus have been known to pass out and even die from doing this too often without rest.
Children of Hades
COMING SOON
Hunters of Artemis
- In addition to the powers these girls gain by being part of the Hunt, they keep all the powers they were blessed with by their godly parent (if they have one). So, for example, girls from the Demeter cabin can still manipulate plants and talk with pigs, but they can also do everything listed here. Nifty, huh?
- These archers are powerful already, being immortal and everything, but when the moon comes out, their strength and speed intensifies. They're practically unbeatable at nighttime, so if you were thinking about challenging one of them, it's best to do it when the sun is out. Also, their silver arrows seem to never run out, and every time they reach for their quiver, one is always there.
- Hunters of Artemis have complete control over wild animals, and while they can't communicate telepathically with them, they can understand their feelings and ask them to help them in a fight verbally. If they're really desperate, they can even put the animal into a trance and force them to fight, but the animal might not be too happy about this later.
- While this might not seem like the greatest power, it sure can be if used the right way. It's no doubt that Artemis favors some of her hunters, and in this case, she blesses a few girls in ever generation with the power to manipulate moonlight. They can turn objects and animals into light by simply focusing on them, and since moonlight isn't tangible, neither is the object. The particles will disperse and take a while to put themselves back together, creating a great diversion technique for the hunter. They can also turn themselves into light, which is useful for slipping through cracks or bars. Basically, anywhere there's a hole, these girls can get through. The catch? They can only use this skill when the moon is out.
